Jesuit Vocations Australia is a ministry of the Society of Jesus in Australia, helping young men discern the depths of their desire to serve Jesus Christ.
The Society of Jesus or the Jesuits is a religious order of men founded by Ignatius Loyola in 1546. It is one of the largest religious orders in the Catholic Church with over 18 000 members.
Jesuit work is typically focussed on education and the intellectual life. The Society conducts 114 universities around the world and over 1600 schools. Jesuits are deeply involved in missionary work and ministry in human rights and social justice. They are also active in areas of spirituality and faith development.
All Jesuit works seek to integrate the intellectual and spiritual dimensions of the Christian life with a love of the poor. Jesuits seek to immerse themselves in the cultures they serve.
